So you’ve probably heard. Sosueme is giving the live portion of their weekly club night the axe after harrassment from police, licencing authorities, council and “serial resident pests”.

What I don’t understand is anyone moving to Oxford Street thinking they’ll get some peace and quiet. And another one bites the dust.

Not sure at the moment what this means (if anything) for other live music happening at the Exchange Hotel building.

Local music + festivals

EDIT: so it looks like it is officially off. Please note I have no interest in seeing people fail, I just think a little knowledge and organisation goes a long way.

So Homebake takes a nosedive for the year while infamously disorganised Bam! looks to have not yet cancelled since passing their deadline for adequate ticket sales yesterday.

What can we gather from this? I guess the more experienced people in the game know when to bite the bullet and go out with a touch of class.

Emerging promoter-types take heed: you need much more than an just an ideal to pull off something this big. Take some notes from the big boys!
